Truth Tuesday

I’ve never lived alone. Unless you count the semester my roommate moved out of my dorm room.

I lived in a dorm for 3 years and then a townhouse with 3 other girls for the last year of college.

During my summer internships in Connecticut, I stayed with my Aunt.

When I graduated college and got a job in Connecticut, The Beard and I were faced with a difficult decision, what comes next? The problem was quickly solved for us, he too got a job in the same state. So, The Beard and I moved in together. While the rents were less than thrilled that we would be living in sin as it is often called by Christian Parents and Grands, I highly recommend living with your significant other before you decide to marry each other. There is a significant value in learning how to live with someone prior to the nuptials.

I don’t regret never living alone and I don’t know if it’s necessarily a bad thing that I haven’t lived on my own. However, I do often wonder if my expectations of household  maintenance would have a different perspective if I had of experienced life on my own.
